ユミルが最後に、娘たちとフリッツ王が槍に刺されて死んでいる自分の姿を想像したあのショットは、ミカサがエレンにしたように、自分も大義のために手放さなければならないと悟ったのだ。どうやらユミルは、ミカサがそうするのを見ることで、最終的に手放し、逝く決意をする必要があったようだ。

That last shot of Ymir imagining herself with her daughters and King Fritz dead by the spear is her realizing that like Mikasa did with Eren, she had to let go for the greater good. Apparently Ymir needed to see Mikasa do it to give her the resolve to finally let go and pass on.

結末は良くも悪くもなく、ただ欠点があり、現実的で、オープンエンドだ（この後どうなったのかなどの点が、読者・鑑賞者の想像・解釈に任されている）
これは私にとって3つ目のアニメで、4つ目の漫画だった。漫画の結末の急ぎすぎと、アルミンとエレンの会話の扱いが気に入らなかった。
このような、賛否両論ある結末を迎えた現代の名作である。
サウンドトラック、声優、ビジュアル、情熱、そしてこの結末の芸術に至るまで、長年のキャストとスタッフに感謝する。
最後にもう一度心臓を捧げよ!!! ⚔️

The ending is not good or bad it is just flawed, realistic and open ended
This was my third anime and fourth manga. Didn't like the rushed manga ending and how Armin and Eren's conversation was handled neither did I like the Ymir stuff, the anime improved on those which was really important. Cried at the final moments cuz it really is the end...at least Eren did kill all Titans but in a way we didn't see coming from the onset and he became a true Jeager a parasitic one at that.
It's a modern masterpiece with a divisive ending.
Thanks to the cast and crew over the years from the soundtrack, voice acting, visuals, passion and this art of a conclusion.

シーズン1のピクシスは、トロスト戦の最中、壁の中でエレンに、人間は1人の人間しか残らなくなるまで、常に互いに争う理由を見つけるものだと話している。そして、より大きな脅威が発生したときにのみ、その争いに決着をつけることができるが、その場合でも、より大きな敵と戦うためにのみ決着をつけることができるとも話している。

Pyxis in season 1 talks to Eren in the Wall during the Trost battle that humans will always find a reason to fight each other until there's only 1 human left. And he also talks about how only when a greater threat arises can those conflicts be settled but even then only to combat a greater enemy.

10年ぶりのゴール、おめでとう。たくさんのリアクションを通して君を知り、そのどれもが楽しかった。
