グーグルは韓国で約800人のフルタイム従業員を抱えている。昨年から人員削減を試みているが、一部の社員は会社からの退職勧奨を拒否していると中央日報が報じた。

ソウルオフィスのグーグル社員約10人が、会社からの退職勧奨を受け入れたという。しかし、韓国の労働法では、5人以上の従業員を抱える雇用主が正当な理由なく解雇することを認めていないため、一部の従業員はそのまま待機していると、韓国の労働法律事務所KangNamは述べている。

KangNamの鄭鳳洙専務はLinkedinの投稿で次のように述べた、

勧奨退職は、従業員が雇用主の提案で退職する場合に発生するが、ほとんどの場合、従業員は再就職の不安や困難に直面することを望まないため、退職を拒否すると述べている。

In most cases, your employer isnt just asking "nicely" to resign. They offer you additional incentives on top of the industry standards.

Since it’s mostly the fear of joblessness that’s keeping them on Google could bring in some career consultants/head hunters on the condition that they leave once a suitable job at similar pay is found. It’s not hard.

韓国では、たとえ従業員が自ら退職を決めたとしても、強制的に退職金が支払われる。
In Korea there is mandatory severance pay, even if an employee decides on their own to resign/quit.
