Isayama focuses on themes over anything else. Thus it resonates with everyone at a deep level. The technicalities are mostly just luck I think, having good studios adapting it.

シーズン1を見終わったところなんだけど、台詞もテンポも何もかもがすごいんだ。すべての結末がわかって、何度も涙が出たよ。

I just finished re watching season one oml it's just incredible, everything, dialogue, pacing. Legit brought me to tears several times with knowing how it'll all end up

What I like the most about aot is how professional it looks as an anime. It’s something you would have no problem recommending to friends or even family. There’s a lot of great anime out there that are really brought down by dogshit anime tropes, fanservice most of all. AoT has none of that.

It's so good that it affects my enjoyment of other shows, like right now I'm watching JJK and it feels so mid because I keep comparing it to AoT.

It was good until it wasn't. Not satisfying ending in any way, for a masterpiece like this. Mangakas doesn't know how to deliver satisfying endings. I, now believe this fact.

まるで完全に作り込まれていて、実際に思考と愛情が込められているようだ。フィクションの要素もあるが、リアルで深刻なトピックを扱っているよね。

It's almost like it was crafted and actually had thought and love put into it. Also it deals with a serious topic in a realistic way even tho it has some fictional elements.

よくあるアニメの型や慣習に固執していない。世の中にあるアニメの90％は底辺のゴミだが、「進撃の巨人」はそれとは正反対だ。

It doesn't stick to common anime tropes and conventions. 90% of the anime out there is bottom of the barrel trash, AoT is the opposite of that.

それぞれのエピソードに意味があるから退屈しないし、主人公たちが1人の敵と何話も戦い続けるような典型的なアニメとは違う。すべてのエピソードがクリフハンガー（話の続きを期待させる）で終わり、流動的で首尾一貫したストーリーのように感じられる。

登場人物は皆、好感が持てるか持てないかはデザインによるもので、全員がよく練られている。力強く始まり、決してスローダウンしない。

正直なところ、他に匹敵する番組は『ブレイキング・バッド』しかない。

There's no boring episodes because each of them mean something, and it's not like a typical anime where the protagonists are fighting one enemy for a bunch of episodes. Every episode ends on a cliffhanger and feels like a fluid and coherent story. All the characters are likeable or unlikable by design, and are all well fleshed out. It starts strong and never slows down. Honestly, the only other comparable show is Breaking Bad.

It was an original story. I think played a large part. Where as more mainstream fiction like marvel or star wars are fairly predictable at this stage.

難しい決断、犠牲、責任、義務についての現実的でファンタスティックな物語であり、ファイナル・シーズンは重い政治や裏切り、筋書きのひねりで満たされているが、フィナーレはこの傑作を台無しにし、何も解決していないゴミのようなロマンス・ファンフィクションに貶めた。

It's a realistic fantastic story about hard decisions, sacrifice, responsibility and duty the final Season is filled with heavy politics and backstabbing and other plot twists, but the finale ruined this masterpiece and reduced it to a trash romance fan fiction that didn't resolve anything its characters gave up their lives for all the sacrifices in the story were meaningless My rating for AoT dropped from 10 all the way to 0 because of the ending.

ガチで語ると、いい作品だと思う。このような作品は他にないし。人類の最後を描いたサバイバル・ホラー漫画だが、その裏には明らかなどんでん返しがある。シーズン4（マーレ編）は一般的なスパイスリラーのようで、世界観の作り込みが甘く、プロットが多すぎて時間が足りなかった。地ならしが出てくる頃には、進撃の巨人特有のグレーさが非常に白黒はっきりしたものになっていたのも助けにならなかった。そして、エンディングは素晴らしかったというのが一般的な意見だが、私は好きではなかったが、許容範囲内だ。

ストーリーは好きだ。ただ、描写されているような日本のウォーキングデッドの頃の方が良かったと思っただけだ。

Tbh for the bits, i think it's good. There's nothing like jt out there. A survival horror manga about the last of humanity despite the obvious twist behind that. S4 did feel like a generic spy thriller with lots of bad world building and too much plot for too little time. Didn't help that by the time the rumbling came out, the greyness of the show had become very starkly black and white. And while the general consensus is that the ending was great, I wasn't a fan of it, but it is acceptable. I like the story, I just thought it was better when it was the Japanese walking dead as it was described
